Frolic Show Bar

The Frolic Show Bar was a Black and Tan located in Sugar Hill at 4450 John R. It cost $60,000 for Jewish owners Hymie and Bennie Gastman to build what they called the "Showplace of Detroit" in 1946.  Dinah Washington and Louis Armstrong performed at the bar with a number of local acts.
